Fun, Funky, Festive Flea & Farmer's Market

After a long deed problem which caused a few closing dates to come, then pass, we finally own our buildings and land which have named, South & Main, In Dalton. This past Saturday, May 10th we held our first indoor/outdoor market.
38 peddlers set up on both sides of the road and peddled their wares & goods. Mother nature gave us a break from so much rain and chill in the air for the entire day! Peddlers got their first kiss of sunshine on their shoulders, faces and neck lines. We still have work to do on the buildings both interior and exterior as well as digging a septic and other improvements but it was fun to get started with sales.
The Fun, Funky, Festive Market offered both hand crafted work along with the vintage and re-purposed objects. I heard so many customers say that they wanted to just camp out all day.....and I recall seeing a few of them stay the majority of the day!
It takes a bit of work to pull of hosting a market and I wouldn't have been able to get everything done without the help of my husband! I also was lucky to have my Niece, Jenn, a cousin, MarySue, my daughter, Taylor and a friend Cindy all chip in to help make everything run smoothly. Offered for customers to experience was a blacksmith giving demonstrations.

We also had a crystal reader set up and I heard so many positive things on how accurate the reading were. From farm items to beautiful clothing there was such a wide variety of  eye candy to pick from. The canned goods such as pickle, beans, honey and syrup were so pretty displayed in the sunlight!

Now we are gearing up for a smaller scale sale over Memorial Day weekend, then a MJ&G workshop "Painted Thistle" in July. First up this weekend, MaryJanes & Galoshes Photography has our "Garden Tea" mini sessions set up. Our next large Market at South & Main In Dalton will be October 11th. Hope to see you there!
