A Morning Outing Part I

Road trips are pretty easy where we live as there are so many fun places within an hour of us. On Saturday the 12th it was MaryJane's birthday, so I called ahead to tell her that a friend,Teresa and I would pick her up at 8:40am for a little outing. Her husband was convinced that the two of us would come home with a puppy....which wouldn't be unthinkable with us. But this was not the plan for THAT day!   Off we went, unknown to MJ, Baraboo was our destination. Teresa had known about a Sunday, vintage/arts market that she wanted to check out.

A really nice woman, Mary{ Raven House} puts these markets on. Due to the freezing ice covered over everyone's driveways, she had several cancellations of set vendors....darn. I don't blame those vendors though, it was slick on the sidewalks and nearly every driveway we passed looked like an ice skating rink! The Sunday Market was set up inside The Ringling's Brothers Mansion. {pictured above}
Baraboo is rich in history and circus theme!

The vendors that did set up despite the ice had really nice displays,wares and arts. We chatted with Mary and a few vendors and let them know about our Fun, Funky, Festive Flea Market at South & Main on May 10th.  A couple of the vendors will be setting up at it, and Raven House, Mary was so encouraging and helpful!
I have pictures of the other stops we made, that's the good news. The bad news, my phone doesn't want to share them with this snowy weather we are having....makes my reception so wrong! sign....maybe they will be in my inbox by morning!??

We also live within an hours of Wisconsin Dells, have you been there?
Do you have local small towns rich in history? What do you have within 1 hour of your house?
