That's so beautiful! You'll have a wonderful time using it and thinking of your sweet Grandma when you do.Maliawww.yesterdayontuesday.com
I have to agree, there is something great about typewriters. I have jewelry boxes full of vintage jewelry and brooches from one grandmother along with her huge collection of hankies and buttons. I also recieved an Vintage occilating(sp?) fan from my other grandmother that belonged to her dad. Treasures from grandparents are the greatest!!
I have my grandmother's child size rocking chair given to her in 1906 on her 3rd birthday. It's a keeper and will be passed down to my daughter one day.DI
Cool typewriter. I have my grandmother's handkerchief box. She grew up on a farm in North Dakota and the wooden box is hand carved. She used to keep her handkerchiefs in it. It is truly a treasure. I also have some of the dress gloves she used to wear to church. Love your blog.
I have my grandma's old singer sewing machine in the table. It is a workhorse and I retired my cheapy Brother one shortly after she gave it to me. I love it!
I have my grandmas old cookie tin filled with buttons. I remember sitting for hours when I was younger trying to find matching buttons from this big tin. I always thought the old coat buttons with rhinestones were real diamonds!
I have not got many treasures from either of my grandmothers as they both died when I was very young. I do have a broach that was my grandmothers that I used in making myself a hair fascinator for my wedding and I treasure that. I am loving the typewriter. I would look at getting myself on but unfortunately in my small apartment there is no space!
I used to have an old typewriter like this as a kid and wrote tons of silly stories until the ink-band was so torn that I could not write anymore... Now I am off to have a closer look at your blog...
So cool! I have my grandpa's 1920's Underwood Typewriter that sits in my entry hall,LOVE IT! Most precious of all is a silver baby cup engraved with my dad's brother's name who sadly was one of 3 siblings that died in infancy.
I have my grandmas hope chest and my great grandmas chest that came with her out west on a covered wagon. I am really thankful I have them.Whimsicalwinston1@gmail.com
