Chapel by the Spring takes my breath away

MJ&G were the very first guests at Chapel by the Spring!

I am so excited to tell you about Chapel by the Spring.  First off, it's an old church that my new friend Kym completely remodeled with vintage and antique finds.  She has now turned it in to an event venue/ vacation rental that you will never want to leave.  Being the first rental of it's kind, Kym is struggling with how to refer to this quint little gem.
 What it is-
Chapel, yes you can get married, and even have your honey moon all at the Chapel by the Spring! (they even have their own pastor!

Hostess cottage, have a girls weekend, bridal shower, baby shower, craft retreat, the chapel seats 30 comfortably with a full kitchen to entertain

Vacation rental, have a romantic weekend away, soak in the claw foot tub and dine by candle light.

Attend an MJ&G event! MaryJanes and Galoshes are working with Chapel by the Spring to put together some fun events, stay tuned for that! (have something you want to learn from MJ&G? Leave your ideas in the comments!)

From the moment we arrived this place took my breath away.  We were greeted by Kym, who was warm and inviting and quickly became a friend of ours.  There was a fire going in the wood fire place and what seemed like 50 soft glowing lamps that created the coziest ambiance.
Up the main steps just inside the front door you are greeted by this.  Being an old chapel, Kym has decorated with some beautiful old statues in keeping with the theme, there are plenty of other things to look at for those who aren't religion conscience.  To the left through that doorway you will find this bathroom done in reds, very boudoir with a claw foot tub to soak in.
Search around a bit and you will even find a little something from me left behind :)
Onto the main living area....
I mentioned there is seating for 30 comfortably throughout the main living area.  Lots of different seating with tables perfect for a lunch or dinner, or room for everyone to craft!
I took my sewing machine along and set up shop on the big table above.  Getting a jump on my Christmas gift making!

The kitchen is so bright and cozy, it was a treat just to have breakfast in there each morning.
Kym painted all kinds of fun things throughout on the floors (like the kitchen floor stencil shown above). You will leave with a ton of ideas for things to do in your own home.
There are two lofts (bedrooms). One is the original choir loft and the other is a loft she added when she re-did the chapel.  The master bedroom with attached full bathroom-

This is the room I had the pleasure of staying in for two wonderful nights! While your there be sure to sit at the dressing table, try on a hat, and strike a dramatic pose!
The guest bedroom, or bird room as it's referred to is just a bit smaller but just as cozy and sweet!
Don't need two rooms?  Each room rents out separately (each with full access to the entire place and you will not be sharing the chapel with other guests, Kym offers the break on the rental to make it affordable for couples who only require one room but want to stay at the chapel)   At $99 per night Sun-Thurs and $125 per night on weekends you can't even get a cheap hotel for that! (Rates are introductory and subject to availability, check out the screaming deal at the end of this post!)

The stairway wall on the way up to each room are filled with character.

Photos from the days where Kym worked in the offices of Playboy! How fun.
Here is what Galoshes had to say about our weekend at Chapel by the Spring-

"We could have easily just walked in the front door, shut it and never opened it again until we left on Sunday! Kym's 1860's church renewed into a guest house is decorated in such a way that I was continually inspired! She has decorating ideas in every single corner! The way she mixes up all the different patterns, fabrics and colors just brings a smile to your face. What stood out most for me were the various vintage rugs used in every room and stair ways. They each made me say..."Ahhhhh". What called to me as well is that Kym uses allot of architectural items in her decorating along with dog related objects, both figure and pictures. I could have packed them all up and brought them home with me.
The lighting inside created such a warm, inviting glow that you feel so at home! The huge stained glass windows which are original to the church were beautiful both during the day when the sun was shining through them as well as at night. When we returned home from having a Chinese meal at a local restaurant, it was so beautiful to return to see those stained glass windows glowing from the interior lights which we had left on.
Kym was there to greet us with a beautiful, warm smile and showed us around the church so that we knew where everything was located. After she left us to get settled, MaryJanes asked, "So which room do you want?" She is so funny, I knew she adored the master room with the bathroom attached to it. It was decorated so sweet that no one would be able to resist it. The vintage dresses and hats hanging from the cute screen door closets just gave us an instant smile. Being the mother, I told her she was welcome to take the master room. I nestled into the guests room which was decorated so sweetly and the bed was so comfy that I slept so sound! Kym added her creative touches to the room by turning a vintage suitcase into an end table and had it displayed with antique bride items. She told us that the grooms table was a work in progress. I can't wait to see it the next time we go for a stay.
By far, The Chapel By The Spring is the most inspiring over night quarters that I have every had the pleasure of staying at. To me, it was like walking into one of the beautiful blogs that teases you with all of the eye candy photographs."

Live within driving distance of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin?  Kym has a special offer (a screaming deal!) for MJ&G readers.  Since she is just getting started, for a limited time MJ&G readers will receive 2 rooms for the price of 1! So if your planning a shower, or event, or just want to get away for a couple days, take advantage of the offer (subject to availability) and book your stay at Chapel on the Spring!

  3. Dear MJ & G,

It's Kym from the chapel... (not the front car)inside joke. LOL. Thank you SOOO much for the beautiful review. It is wonderful to see the chapel through your eyes, and interesting to hear of the things you took note of. OMG, the pics are gorgeous, the color so yummy, as is the woman in the mirror wearing the hat!! Galoshes, I am so happy you get my decorating sense, or should I say nonsense... Until next time, I remain your new friend, working on becoming an old one.

  4. Oh so fun to see the beautiful chapel again. I was happy to stumble upon it this summer with Galoshes when it was in a transitional phase. It truly is a gem and so is Kym! It would be a great place for craft parties. There are so many things I would like to learn like altering photos and projects with CriCutt (spelling?). This area of the state is so beautiful with lots of fun activities in the area. Great adventures in store with MJ&G in the Lake Geneva area!
