Okay, I'm not kidding you-- this dress cost me $6 to make!  I'm totally serious!

Oh, and by the way... it's not one of those amazing deals I just happened to come across.
Don't you hate when you read on someone's blog that they just happened to find the most amazing antique wire cloche for 5 cents?  Well, what good does that me???  lol  :)
NO, it would cost you $6 too.

How?  Well let me tell you...

I NEVER shop at Walmart.  Target is just 5 minutes away from my house, so I just always go there.  Well, last week I was looking for some Easter candy that Target didn't carry, so I decided to give Walmart a try.  I'M SO GLAD I DID!!!

After I found the candy, I thought I'd take a look around and I stumbled upon a rack of the CUTEST sundresses.  They came in almost every color and I about passed out when I saw they were $6 each!!!

I instantly knew I needed every color AND I knew that they needed a little bit of "RUFFLING".  So, I bought them, headed home, grabbed some ribbon from my stash and started sewing!!!

The dress I used was size 7/8.  The top seam measured 24 inches around.  I took that number and multiplied it by 2 1/2 and got 60 inches.  I then cut 60 inches of ribbon.

I'm so happy with how it turned out and more importantly- Scarlet loves it!

I can't wait to get started on my red one- I'm turning it into a 4th of July dress!  Oh, and don't get me started on my Disneyland one!!!

So drop what you're doing now and get to Walmart for these darling dresses before they sell out!  I might even make another run for a couple more for cute birthday presents!!!

  1. Walmart is surprising. I always go there for my grocery shopping and happened to pass a rack of toddler sundresses...only $5. That was the original price, not even a markdown. I bought a really pretty blue one. I love that you took an already cute dress and stepped it up a notch. Very nice!
